Dental Offices Prioritized for COVID-19 Vaccine

Local health departments in Ohio that registered as vaccine providers are beginning to receive COVID-19 vaccines. Governor Mike DeWine has included dental providers and their staffs on the list of who should be prioritized by health departments during Phase 1A.

EFDAs are essential health care workers who play an important role in promoting oral health, which is closely tied to health conditions including heart disease, diabetes, stroke and pregnancy complications.

Ensuring our dental workforce is healthy and our dental offices are open during the pandemic will help reduce the number of hospital emergency room visits for dental care and help contain the spread of the virus.

Your dental office should to work with its local health departments to coordinate receiving the COVID-19 vaccines.

We will update you as additional information becomes available.
